Nursery Class Admissions
Children will be admitted to the nursery class on the same basis as any child admitted to the school i.e. in line with the school's admissions policy as set out below. However, admission to the nursery class does not in any way guarantee admission to the school when the children reach statutory school age. A separate application needs to be made for admission to the school. There is no right of appeal against the decision of the Governors concerning Nursery admissions.
In September 2007 arrangements for admission to the Nursery will be as follows:
All children will attend half - time only for 4 weeks. After this time, full-time places in the Nursery will be available for children who are ready for this big step but will be at the discretion of the teaching staff and in consultation with the child's parent/s.
The children will then finish at 3 p.m.
School dinners will not be available for the first four weeks.
The length of the morning and afternoon sessions will be identical ie. 8.50 - 11.20 and 12.30 - 3.00. The younger half of the children will attend in the morning and the older half in the afternoon.
There will be individual interviews with parents/children during the first week of term.
